Rules and Regulations of The Scottish Classic One Loft Race 2008
1.The race will be called “Scottish Classic One Loft Race” the loft is situated in the West of Scotland, 2.5 miles south/west of Paisley. In the Glennifer Braes
2.The race is open to all 08 Birds. Birds must be between 30 and 40 days old when delivered to the loft, and must have a certificate of vaccination against Paramyxovirus on delivery to the loft, also a transfer form and pedigree must also accompany them.
3.International Birds are welcome. With special arrangement with the committee and DEFRA (Any financial Costs of this must be covered by the Entrant.)
4.There will be 5 Hotspot races on the 30th July 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th August, All of which are on a Wednesday,
5.The Final Race on Saturday the 6th of September.
6.The total entrance fee will be £100.00. We will accept unlimited entries allocated on a first come basis.
7.There will be £25.00 non refundable deposit per pigeon. This must be paid with your application. The full £100.00 will have to be paid before the first race.
8.We will be inviting breeders to breed us an extra 300 inactivated birds which will enter the loft with all the other pigeons. These will have plain SU rings; they will be trained and raced along with the other birds. If at any time during the race programme your pigeon is lost We will activate an anonymous bird as a replacement for the remaining races, once free of charge. All inactivated Birds still available at the final race can be activated for a fee of £100.00.
9.All cheques to be made payable to “Scottish Classic One Loft Race” credit card facilities are also accepted online at www.scottishclassiconeloftrace.com .
10.We will be accepting birds into the loft weekly from the 8th of February 08 till 25th of April 08. They will be quarantined for the first week to maintain a healthy loft.
11.All pigeons will only be accepted into the loft once a transfer form has been received; they then become property of the Scottish Classic One Loft Race. All Efforts will be made by us to retrieve lost birds. After the last race all birds will be auctioned at Newmains club, By Robert Frame. On the 28th of September 08. 50% of the auction price, less expenses will go to the Breeder. 50 % to the loft. Your bird must be accompanied with a pedigree before entry to the loft in order to receive your share.
12.All birds will be flown under darkness system; The Birds will also be Celibate. We intend to train them daily weather permitting. Up to 40 miles along the race route.
13.We shall be using Unikon Electrical timing systems for all Training tosses and
race results.
14.ALL PRIZE MONEY IS ESTIMATED ON 1000 BIRDS ENTERING THE RACE.
ii.Final Race Prize money: 1st £15,000, 2nd £10,000, 3rd £5,000, 4th £2,500,5th £2,000, 6th £1,000, 7th to 10th £500, 11th to 20th £250, 21st to 30th £100, The first 3 Pigeons will receive a trophy.
iii.The Best overall Hen and Cock will get £1,500 Prize money each, based on the combined results of all six races. These pigeons will also receive a trophy.
iv.There will also be a BONUS CASH PRIZE of £100 for the first pigeon home from each union on the main race.
15.Pools will be optional on all races. Less 15% expenses.
16.Prize money is estimated on 1000 birds entering the race. Confirmation of Prize money will be realised once loft closes.
17.Schools and local community groups will be encouraged to purchase an inactive bird; we hope this will help to promote the sport. If you have a group or school who would be interested please contact us.
18.All races will be run under the rules of the Scottish Homing Union.
19.The committee reserve all rights to change or modify the dates and/or liberation sites depending on the weather conditions. As the birds will be our main priority. The decision of the committee in all matters relating to the Scottish Classic One Loft Race is final.
20.Training tosses, race results, newsletters and all other communications concerning the progress of your pigeon will be sent to you by your preferred method i.e. telephone call, Royal Mail, email or text.
