30th August 09
I have updated the Main Race results, we have had two more birds back this morning and are hoping that more will return through out the day. I hope that everyone appreciates how hard the birds worked to get home it was there hardest race yet. Racing into the west of Scotland is hard enough without the added pressure of the strong head wind we had yesterday. The birds did great. We'd like to thank everyone who came through to watch the race, we had quiet a crowd and with George on the bbq and plenty beer flowing it was a very good day/night, and I hope you all had as good a day as we did.I will continue to update the site as birds arrive back.
However for the owners of the birds that have returned we must now start thinking of whether you wish to send your bird to The Scottish National in 2 weeks time or If you'd like to keep your bird secured for the Auction which will be held on the 27th of September in The Newmains Club. I'll be in touch over the next few days to see what you think.

31st July 09 Cont.
The training results have now been posted we did a head count of 129 however only 119 have scanned?? There have been pigeons arriving in ones and twos most of the day. so we should see the majority of them back, as they have been out at Carnwarth before we will confirm numbers tomorrow.
31st July 09 Cont.
The birds were liberted at 10.35am From Carnwarth. at the last count we have 120 home. However we had a phone call fron the carnwarth golf club, and we were told that a buzzard had dropped a dead pigeon half eaten on the grounds, he took the telephone number from the ets ring and called us and when he went back to get the ring number he said the bird was gone. it was a blue was all he said. So not sure what happened. The birds took longer to clear the liberation site but they cleared before the convoyer left the site. So not sure if the birds were attacked as its unusal for a buzzard to attack. or maybe this bird hit a wire. We'll never know but we will give a few more hours before shutting off the clock. This should give the others a chance to make there way home. I will update the site when I do this.
31st July 09
The 144 birds have been taken back to carnwarth this morning for training. I will post the results later on today. However we have a few birds who haven't went there ring numbers are

28th July 09 cont.
Well the weather didn't change here today, so we have not been able to train the birds. However the weather forcast for tomorrow is looking like it should be good, so we are going to hold our first Race tomorrow from Carnwarth approx 40miles. Obviously weather permitting. We think that this is a fair distance for the birds. We will update the site when the birds are liberated and also later on the day with the results. Good luck to everyone.
28th July 09
Sorry I'm late posting yesterdays training results, However I wasn't able to do it yesterday. I have now posted them online. Not looking good for training today pretty miserable weather here today, but we'll see what the afternoon brings. I will get back online later let you know whats happening.
25th July 09 Cont.
The results are now on the site. again i'm sorry but I was unable to but the names and I won't be able to do that till we actually start racing just the way the unikon system is set up. Hopefully the weather holds out for tomorrow and we'll get another toss. looking at a wednesday race at the moment.
25th July 09 Cont.
The Birds were libertated at 8.00am from 25miles. and The birds reurned within 30 minutes took them a bit longer to trap this morning however the training toss went well, I will put the result on shorlty.
25th July 09 Even though its race day, today is to good a day to miss for training, we're taking them out to 25 miles this morning. We left at 7am. I will update you on the results later.
23rd July
No training today weather just not working in our favour.
23rd July 09 11.00am
The weather is not looking good, with strong winds and heavy rain forcast. we will wait till this afternoon so if it clears any before making a decision on training. If the weather carrys on like this though we may have to put the first race back to wednesday next week. I'll post later if we managed a training toss of not.
22nd July 09
No training today the weather started out terrible today, and we made a decision not to train as thunder was forcast. However turned out a lovely evening. thats just Sod law. So looks like the race will be held early next week. As we would like more training before the first race. I will confirm more details as I know more.
22nd July 09 (sorry 21st July)
We have now been able to put todays training results online go to page "Training 21 7" I have not been able to get the names on yet but i will get there.
21st July 09
I don't know what I did yesterday when I updated the site as I seemed to have lost a few days but I've reposted them now. The birds were trained today from 20 miles and within 45 minutes, the majority of birds were back in the loft. So the birds are doing well. I will attempt to post the training result within the next hour or so. so you can see where your bird is coming in the batch. We have been looking at the weather for this week and its not looking good. But we will do our best to get the birds trained every day till the first race which if the weather turns bad may even be put back till Monday. But I will confirm this over the next few days.
20th July 09
We haven't been training over the past few days with local race days and the strong winds. So we are intending to put back the first race till thursday/friday to allow some extra training. This was one of the reason we brought the first race forward this year to give us more time to work around the weather. we felt training would have be to risky. We sent out letters on friday so you should have received your letter today letting you know which of your birds are still in the loft, if you haven't recieved your letter by tomorrow please give me a call. Remember during training birds are srriving back every day so we will update the site with the arrivals from tomorrow training hopefully. someone has told me that the problems I'm having with the unikon link could be due to the fact that my running programme is vista so we'll try get an xp computer and see if we can get it to work. If so we can look forward to quicker and better updates.
16th July 09
We took the birds out to 15 miles this morning. We decided to let them up together they split into three batchs and cleared the liberation site within 10mins. The 2 larger batches were back at the loft within 45mins however we're still waiting for the thrid batch which is now 2 hours later. approx 45 birds are missing but we are hopeful they'll be back. I'll update the site later.
14th July 09
Weather been very poor, with heavy rain, so we felt it was best to not train the birds the past two days. weather forcast not great for today but we'll get them back into it tomorrow.
11th July 09
Local Race day today so no training.
9th July 09
We trained the birds from 7 miles today releasing them approx 50 birds at a time. most of the batches were back within 35mins however one batch took nearly 1hr 30mins to get home. So we will go to 7 miles again tomorrow until they are returning home more quickly. once we feel they are coming well, we will then we'll move them out to 15 miles. There were approx 15 birds not home at the close of the loft but we hope to see some of they back in the morning.
8th July 09
We have now sucessfully trained the birds from 4 miles, we decided to split the birds into batchs of 25 and this seems to have helped, as the majority of birds made their way home, with very little losses. we will go to 7miles tomorrow. We intend to train every day except local race days from now till the first race. The birds list has not been updated, however we will be in contact with a letter just before the first race letting you know how many of your birds have made it to the first race. we will also add the first page of the training tosses ( this will start once we are letting the birds go altogether after the first 3-4 tosses) so you can see where your birds are coming in the batch. If I can get unikon link to work I will start updating the site with training information once the birds are getting up altogether.
7th July 09
The birds are settling well in the baskets and are now drinking and feeding well in them. we took a bit more time with basket training as we wanted to make sure the birds are comfortable going in and out of them before we started training. As we hope this will improve the returns from training, as you know we didn't do to well last year at the first toss. The first toss will be from 4 miles tomorrow afternoon.
2nd July 09
Let me first let you know that the birds are well, The loft manager and my husband have been taking care of them. and have started to basket train, And getting them feeding and drinking from the baskets, we will start training early next week. I have not been myself with some type of virus which has seen me neglect my paperwork and doing very little of anything over the past six weeks. So please accept my apologise for not having been in contact, or updating the site. As anyone who entered last year knows I do like to keep everyone updated as it adds to the enjoyment of the race. So now I'm feeling better I promise you'll get more information. As we go into training we have a good team of birds to start with and are excited for the coming weeks aswell as a little nervous, as we didn't get a great start in training last year. We will be in touch over the next week letting you know how birds got on through training. Good luck
3rd June 09
Well the loft has now closed and we have a total of 288 birds in the loft not bad, what with the credit crunch. The birds are all excersing well and except for the birds that arrived late in May they are all getting the jist of this flying business and flying well. We will basket train them over the coming weeks to familarise them with the baskets. and once we feel their ready we will start training. We will lift the darkness next weekend a week early to give the birds time to adjust before training begins. If your ring numbers are not shown on the birds list then please get in touch as I do try my best but I do some times make mistakes. Any names without ring numbers are people who paid their deposit however did not manage to send birds. I will be deleting them when I update the birds page when i include the electronic ring numbers. If you have any queries then get in touch.

Well hopefully it won't last to much longer so the birds can continue their routine.
